Welcome to Blue Glass Post
So, what is Blue Glass Post?
Blue Glass Post is a work order request and work order processing system,
It is concept software.
The first concept is that it is a web based application,
All that is needed is a World Wide Web connection.
This particular site functions as a product baseline demonstration for software packages that can be quickly and effectively built with your feature selections to best suit your business and its business needs.
The second concept is that it is an excellent addition or start to a quality control system.
This means that you will now have documentation of efforts to always make things better. Always!
It can easily replace or augment a paper based documentation system.
That's the end of concepts. It works like this.
The work order request becomes an issued work order that does not need to be handed around on paper.
Work orders and their requests can be easily initiated from paper forms for those computer illiterate.
After that, print outs can be made at any stage, and any updating is easy, no duplications.
There are four basic web sites that get generated for each of the four user types.
People initiate work order request at the first web site.
Then there are supervisors who must decide what to do with these requests. They get the second site.
These two sites work together to issue actual work orders to workers, or technicians who also get a web site. They are are the third users group.
These workers are able to record work flow and report it to back to clients, or the work order requesters, and the supervisors.
Finally, there is a fourth site for a site maintenance user. Here there are additional site controls and archive information.
To the left is a navigation panel so that you can look over each users site and web pages individually
There is also a side car suggestion box which is a smaller system that might achieve simpler needs.
Virtually all transaction are recorded in an archive database which includes tables for each sites relevant information on pending jobs, work in progress, and archives of work completed. Each database is automatically updated with current work for its user.
Features like password protection, and worker name changes are easy.
Much more elaborate systems are possible by simply adding features to this product base line demo.
The Bottom Line
Your company wants to improve! Using formal methods to do so are more likely to work, right? If your company would like something so that improvements can be formally requested in a structured way, then a work order request system is a great place to start. The simplest version might be our suggestion box.
Beware that this system could also lead to or be enhanced to to become a full blown quality control system that follows all formal systems analysis and design practices. Your company my have to start from somewhere and this is a logical start. If your quality department wants help and people are exasperated by "the quality rules", please help them help, see my suggestion box.
A Systems Analyst would say that there is a strong resemblance to a "systems request" here. If your companies analysts have processed a systems request for a work order request system, and feasibility studies have shown that out sourcing is the best method, then this is the package for you. Alternatively, this software acts so much like a systems request software package which is the formal start, that we offer to customize it to be a formal systems request software package.
